Client Brief

As part of a significant state initiative to enhance healthcare accessibility and medical training, the brief called for:

A full-fledged medical college campus with state-of-the-art educational, clinical, and residential facilities

A cohesive master plan integrating academic, service, and accommodation blocks

A modern, functional design language that reflects institutional strength and accessibility

Efficient zoning for OPD, IPD, Super Speciality, Hostels, and Staff Housing

Durable architecture built to serve future generations

Challenge

Designing an integrated institution that delivers both care and knowledge at scale

The challenge lay in accommodating a vast range of user needs - from patients to doctors to students - within a single master plan. With 9+ block types spread across a multi-acre site, the goal was to balance architectural coherence with the functional specificity each unit demanded.

Solutions

An institutional campus designed for life, learning, and care

Utopiaan’s master planning strategy ensured seamless movement between zones while maintaining distinct identities for each function. Key highlights include:

A G+6 Academic Block equipped for modern medical pedagogy

Separate Boys’ and Girls’ Hostels (G+9) designed for student comfort and security

A G+9 OPD Block and existing G+3 IPD and G+6 Super Specialty Blocks offering tiered levels of medical services

Dedicated residential towers for Teaching Staff, Non-Teaching Staff, and Nurses (G+9) ensuring proximity and convenience for personnel

Unified by a contemporary blue and white facade, the architecture balances visual identity with climate responsiveness and institutional dignity

The project, now complete, stands as a fully functional, future-forward healthcare and learning ecosystem, supporting the government's mission to create accessible, quality healthcare in underserved regions.
